University of Westminster Choral Society
The first event at which the newly formed Choral Society performed was the Annual University Carol Service, held in St Marylebone Parish Church on 2 December 2010.
As Frances Lee (of Sounds Like) was one of singers, the event was recorded on a portable digital recorder from within the congregation by Edward Lee, of Elm Village Arts. On some occasions the singing of nearby people can therefore be heard. The recorder also makes clear how noisy even a quiet audience can be, as we hear them shuffling and rustling hymn sheets !
The following music was performed (click to hear or to obtain the free download):
Once in Royal David’s City
Christmas Lullaby (John Rutter)
God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen
Ding Dong ! Merrily on High
O Little Town of Bethlehem
Star Carol (John Rutter)
O Come All Ye Faithful
Why Not Buy an Extra Present ? (Mike Samms)
Hark the Herald Angels Sing
Recessional (organ piece)
